Letter To The Editor Published In The Grundy Register Girls’ Golf Team Appreciative of Support
Letter
to the editor:
We would like to thank all of the people who made this past season
so memorable
for our team. Winning a record breaking 10th state title
is “special” because we share it with so
many people. To our fans,
who are the best, players and spectators from other schools were once
again
taken aback by our following at the State Tournament; in awe
would be a better way of describing it. To the volunteer
scorekeepers
at state from Grundy Center we give a huge thanks for your time and
commitment, especially
with less than ideal conditions. Please look
for the letter of appreciation from the Girls Union for a job well
done posted at the golf course.
GNB, Liberty Bank, and Phelps, thanks for your generous donations
to the program, we are truly humbled. To the parents, you are simply
the best. You do all things necessary
to promote success for our
team, without you this success does not happen. Mr. Dirks and the
boys
team, we are fortunate to have you help us and encourage us, as
a result, we believe our success is your success.
Thanks again to our
golf course and staff who make us feel welcomed every day and to the
Town and
Country membership who encourage junior member play. We
would also like to thank Mr. Iverson for his assistance
during the
year, especially down the tournament trail.
Finally, we want to say “thank
you” to the former Lady Spartan
golfers who paved the path for us. By your success we could believe
in our own dreams of becoming state champions. For that we are
forever grateful.
It is great to be
a Spartan!!
